Public Space Design Real Site Project
A 2-day hands-on workshop: design for a real Bangkok river pier and build a portfolio-ready model
Available spots
Service Description
Design for a real place, for real people. In this 2-day hands-on workshop, students step out of the classroom and onto a public boat pier on the Chao Phraya River. Here, commuters, tourists, and locals cross and travel along Bangkok's busiest waterway every day. Students observe how people use the space, spot problems and opportunities, and design functional furniture that makes the pier work better for its users. Guided by SoA+D KMUTT lecturers, students go through the same process used in university design studios: from site analysis to sketching, concept development, and a finished scale model. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Visit and analyse a real Chao Phraya river pier - Observe users and identify design opportunities - Sketch and develop your own furniture concept - Build a scale model and present your idea WHAT YOU'LL TAKE HOME - A complete design project for your university application portfolio - A finished scale model and sketch work - Feedback from university design lecturers - A Certificate of Completion WHO IT'S FOR High school students interested in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, or Industrial Design.
